Waverly Hills Sanatorium Now Offering Year-Round Tours

Tuesday, December 27th, 2005

Ok, so this is cool. The Waverly Hills Historical Society is offering year-round tours now thanks to the permission granted by the Louisville-Metro Fire Marshall. I’ve always been interested in the Louisville folklore regarding the old tuberculosis hospital. The Louisville Ghost Hunters Society is a big proponent of the restoration effort and is rumored to give one heck of a ghost-themed tour of the joint.

It’s $20 for everyone. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. You can email Tina Mattingly at <t matt 21 at iglou dot com> (email obfuscated to protect her inbox, hopefully) or call her at (502) 417-4526. I’m guessing there isn’t set hours, but Tina can probably get you set up with a tour or two she’s trying to put together. My guess is that you want to be flexible for this thing. Sounds like a pretty good tour. Gonna get The Wife the info. I know she’ll want to go. Email me at sean t smith at gmail dot com if you’re interested and we’ll put together a group or something.

“This is the end, my only friend, the end…”

I’ve written about 12 of these freaking “first post” entries while testing this stuff at this point, and it’s getting late where I am. I’m sure my wife would appreciate it if I went to bed. Damn Gallery install…

Anyway, welcome to seansmith.net. This is just yet another personal blog which adds no real value to the Internet. So why put it up? Because apparently you’re not cool if you don’t have a blog, and I want desperately to be cool (please note: this blog will be dripping with sarcasm — I’ll try to annotate accordingly). The basic idea is that I’m going to write articles, and people I know or who stumble upon this blog will comment accordingly. Got it? Grrrreeeaaaat… yeaaaah…

Seriously though, I’m sure my friends and family are getting tired of hearing me rant (which it seems is happening more and more lately). So this way, I get the release of getting the rant out of my system, and they can tune the blog out. But, here’s where you come in. I’m constantly on the “improve yourself” bandwagon, and I find that most of my rants are about things I don’t completely understand. I need you to help me understand them. I try to be as objective as a human being can on a daily basis, but that typically fails miserably. Help me help you. If you comment, the flood of refuse will get progressively better.

And that’s what we all want. A blog that isn’t a waste of electrons.
