Waverly Hills Sanatorium Now Offering Year-Round Tours
Tuesday, December 27th, 2005Ok, so this is cool. The Waverly Hills Historical Society is offering year-round tours now thanks to the permission granted by the Louisville-Metro Fire Marshall. I’ve always been interested in the Louisville folklore regarding the old tuberculosis hospital. The Louisville Ghost Hunters Society is a big proponent of the restoration effort and is rumored to give one heck of a ghost-themed tour of the joint.
It’s $20 for everyone. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. You can email Tina Mattingly at <t matt 21 at iglou dot com> (email obfuscated to protect her inbox, hopefully) or call her at (502) 417-4526. I’m guessing there isn’t set hours, but Tina can probably get you set up with a tour or two she’s trying to put together. My guess is that you want to be flexible for this thing. Sounds like a pretty good tour. Gonna get The Wife the info. I know she’ll want to go. Email me at sean t smith at gmail dot com if you’re interested and we’ll put together a group or something.
